Steven M. Shapiro
President and CEO
Mr. Shapiro is the founder of the Company. Previously, Mr. Shapiro was the President of MARK Partners LLC, a merchant banking boutique he founded in 2001. Mr. Shapiro has extensive experience in strategic consulting, investment banking advisory services, and private equity investing. Mr. Shapiro has held positions with several private equity and investment banking partnerships, including The Blackstone Group, LP and Centre Partners Management LLC. Mr. Shapiro holds a B.A. degree in economics from the University of Pennsylvania and an M.B.A. in finance and entrepreneurial management from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. Paul E. Shapiro
Chairman
Mr. Shapiro joined the Company in 2004. Prior thereto, Mr. Shapiro held positions as Chief Administrative Officer of each of Revlon, Inc., and Sunbeam Corporation, and General Counsel of each of the Coleman Company, Inc. and Marvel Entertainment, Inc. He was an Executive Vice President of each of the aforementioned public companies. Prior thereto, Mr. Shapiro practiced corporate and securities law as a managing shareholder of the Palm Beach County office of Greenberg Traurig LLP (which acquired Shapiro and Bregman, a firm he co-founded) and was a partner in Wolf, Block, Schorr and Solis-Cohen. Mr. Shapiro was a founder and a Co-Director of the Institute for Paralegal Training, the first school created for the training of legal assistants. Mr. Shapiro holds a B.A. from the University of Pennsylvania and a J.D. from the University of Pennsylvania Law School. Mr. Shapiro serves on the Board of Directors and is Chairman of the Audit Committee of Toll Brothers, Inc. (NYSE). John K. McCarroll
Vice President - General Counsel
Mr. McCarroll joined the Company in 2005. Mr. McCarroll has extensive experience in the area of corporate insurance law and has spent a significant portion of his career advising insurers and other insurance-related entities on a wide variety of regulatory, compliance, and licensing issues. Mr. McCarroll has worked at both Lord, Bissell & Brook and Leboeuf, Lamb, Greene & McRae, two of the country's leading insurance law firms. In addition to his insurance background, Mr. McCarroll has also represented clients in litigation, corporate and employment matters. Mr. McCarroll graduated with a B.A. from the University of Virginia and holds a J.D. from St. John's University School of Law. Since 2006, Mr. McCarroll has been a member of the Board of Directors of the Life Insurance Settlement Association (LISA), the life settlement industry's trade association, and is currently a Vice President of the association. Howard A. Feldman
Vice President - Chief Financial Officer
Mr. Feldman joined Q Capital in 2004. Mr. Feldman is the former Managing Partner of the West Palm Beach office of Arthur Andersen LLP. His experience includes all aspects of financial management, strategic planning, equity and debt offerings, long-range planning, SEC and other financial reporting. Prior to joining Arthur Andersen, he was Regional Managing Partner of the Southeast eastern region of Laventhol & Horwath, responsible for the operations of seven offices in the Southeast United States and Puerto Rico. He served two three-year terms as a member of the firm's governing body. After retiring from the Public Accounting profession, he spent three years as a Financial Advisor with Sanford C. Bernstein & Co. and Raymond James and Associates handling a wide range of services for individuals, trusts, and small institutional clients. Mr. Feldman's most recent experience was as the Chief Financial Officer of a non-profit entity. Mr. Feldman holds a B.S. in Economics from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. Don J. Glidewell
Vice President - Operations
Prior to joining Q Capital in 2005, Mr. Glidewell was the sales manager for Peachtree Life Settlements, a life settlement provider, serving in that position since Peachtree's entry into life settlement business in 2000. In addition to his responsibilities in the life settlement division, Mr. Glidewell previously held numerous management and supervisory positions while at Peachtree including director of training and development. Prior thereto, Mr. Glidewell was an executive with Rich's Department Stores, a division of Federated Department Stores, and held the position of divisional vice president/general manager for several of Rich's largest stores in Birmingham, AL and Atlanta, GA. While at Rich's, Mr. Glidewell helped plan and successfully execute the grand opening for two of their largest stores and helped design and implement an award winning customer service program that was subsequently rolled out to all Federated stores. This plan resulted in significantly increased sales and profits and resulted in Glidewell winning the Chairman's Store of the Year award. Adam L. Rosenberg
Vice President - Human Resources
Adam L. Rosenberg, M.S., MBA, Ph.D. joined Q Capital in 2008. Dr. Rosenberg has extensive experience in corporate training and organizational development. Prior to joining Q Capital, Dr. Rosenberg was the Director of Human Resources for Atlantic Biologicals Corp, an International Pharmaceutical Distributor; Director of Career Services for ITT Technical Institute; the President for Upnadam Enterprises Incorporated, an International Human Resources Consulting Company, and was also the Vice-President of Human Resources and Clinical Operations for Galaxy Healthcare. In his diverse background he has also taught college classes and lectured internationally on numerous topics including: Team Building, Operational Management, Interviewing Techniques, Employee Relations and Career Counseling. Dr. Rosenberg received his B.S. from the University of Florida, his M.S. from Nova Southeastern University, his M.B.A. from University of Bedford, as well as his Ph.D. He also attended Graduate programs at Johns Hopkins University and the University of Baltimore. Dr. Rosenberg is community minded and has sat on National, State and Local Board of Directors including: The Broward County, Florida Chapter of the American Red Cross, The Mayor's Task Force Against Drugs for the City of Boca Raton, Florida, and is a current member of the Board of Directors for The Broward County, Florida Mental Health Association.
